Setting: Kids spill something on stove burner. Then later the burner gets used and black smoke billows out and flames shoot out around the pot and go slightly higher than the pot is tall.

Setting: piece of toast, very lightly toasted (only on setting 2!) No smoke, no smell.

I assume if time travel into the past was possible I would have visited myself by now!
Does that seem like a reasonable thought? Because my ADD brain immediately thought of other reasons why I may not have visited myself: legal restrictions (laws against it), impracticality (maybe I can’t be in the same “space” as my past self), I remember “then” and why would I want to revisit it?, or perhaps my past (current) self is too uninteresting/dumb to visit… list goes on!
…or perhaps it is mathematically, scientifically, physically impossible to prove and traveling into the future is the only real option (hello gravity well!)
