{"id":98,"date":"2024-11-12T09:12:14","date_gmt":"2024-11-12T17:12:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canutethegreat.blog\/?p=98"},"modified":"2024-11-24T12:49:40","modified_gmt":"2024-11-24T20:49:40","slug":"off-earth-colonization","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.canutethegreat.com\/index.php\/2024\/11\/12\/off-earth-colonization\/","title":{"rendered":"Off-Earth Colonization?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thinking about all the talk about colonizing Mars, has me thinking that we would need a lot more prep work than what is being mentioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Supplies would need to be sent in advance and stockpiled. \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Since self sustainability is unlikely, at least not without greenhouses, continuous supplies would have to be sent on a schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Robots capable of construction would need to be shipped early on to facilitate initial building of human habitable structures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communications, particularly relays would need to be established immediately.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Some sort of escape plan, equipment, and vessel\/ship would need to be in place (possibly the ship used to arrive.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not sure the costs would be worth it with our current abilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just a few random thoughts&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thinking about all the talk about colonizing Mars, has me thinking that we would need a lot more prep work than what is being mentioned.
