    Off-Earth Colonization?

Thinking about all the talk about colonizing Mars, has me thinking that we would need a lot more prep work than what is being mentioned.

    • Supplies would need to be sent in advance and stockpiled.
      • Since self sustainability is unlikely, at least not without greenhouses, continuous supplies would have to be sent on a schedule.
    • Robots capable of construction would need to be shipped early on to facilitate initial building of human habitable structures.
    • Communications, particularly relays would need to be established immediately.
    • Some sort of escape plan, equipment, and vessel/ship would need to be in place (possibly the ship used to arrive.)

Not sure the costs would be worth it with our current abilities.

    Just a few random thoughts…

    gmail reporting options suck

The reporting options in gmail are: spam or phishing. There really should be a third option: scam. I think about 80% of the “spam” I get is actually not unsolicited, bulk, commercial email, but rather scams pretending to be spam.

Winter Is Coming: Into What Future Are We Heading?

As a young adult I always assumed that humanity would eventually head towards a future that resembled the one from Star Trek. A society where we are no longer bound to personal wealth and put our energy towards improvement. Improvement of our selves, our communities, and our technological, medical, and scientific advancements.

However, as I’ve gotten older, hopefully wiser, but definitely a bit more exposed to the world we actually live in, I find that young adult me would be saddened by this reality. Instead of that picturesque future so wonderfully painted before our eyes in Star Trek, I instead see a much different world. The future is starting to instead, look more like we’ve been using the script from Idiocracy as a playbook!

In the wonderful, yet fictional world of Star Trek storyland, they tell us we will have a devastating third world war, including some harsh nuclear winters, before we collectively get our shit together and begin down a path of betterment.

    Let’s hope it is a quick war…
